An Introduction
Olivespire is a Los Angeles atelier — a quiet study in permanence, shaped by the city's golden light, its coastal restraint, and the slow patience of natural materials. We believe the home is not a stage, but a sanctuary. Every piece we create is an invitation to dwell, to touch, to remain.
Form follows feeling.
We do not design for trends. We design for the weight of a hand on walnut grain, for the way morning light falls across unglazed clay in a Silver Lake bungalow, for the silence between objects in a well-considered room.
Our Philosophy
In an age of excess, Olivespire chooses restraint. From our Los Angeles workshop, work emerges through a dialogue between architect and artisan — between the geometry of space and the irregularity of the human hand. We source materials that age with grace under California light — raw oak that deepens in tone, travertine that records the passage of seasons, linen that softens with use.
Each object is conceived as part of a larger composition: not a product to be displayed, but a presence to be lived with. We reject the disposable. We embrace the imperfect, the tactile, the enduring.
Curated Spaces
A generous arc of upholstered form, wrapped in undyed Belgian linen. The silhouette invites conversation and repose — soft geometry for rooms that ask nothing and offer everything.
Solid California oak, left raw and honest. The grain tells its own story — knots, whorls, and the quiet strength of a tree that stood for centuries before becoming the heart of an LA home.
Hand-carved from Roman travertine, each vessel bears the fossilized memory of ancient seabeds. Cool to the touch, warm to the eye — a still point in any room.
An arrangement that celebrates imperfection — cracked plaster, weathered wood, a single ceramic form. Beauty found not in perfection, but in the honest record of time and use.
Where We Dwell
Coastal homes where Pacific light meets raw oak dining tables and travertine vessels — objects chosen to weather salt air and slow afternoons with equal grace.
Hillside bungalows with curved lounges and wabi-sabi corners — compositions that honor LA's mid-century bones while embracing organic, hand-formed materiality.
Intimate gallery spaces where furniture becomes sculpture — ceramic forms and sculptural seating arranged as quiet dialogues between art, architecture, and the city below.
"We make objects for people who understand that the most luxurious thing in a room is empty space — and the courage to leave it that way."
Materiality
Walnut — deep, resonant, alive with movement. Our walnut is air-dried for two years before it enters our Los Angeles workshop. The result is a wood that breathes, that responds to California humidity and light with a slow, dignified patina.
Clay — earth made vessel. We work with Los Angeles ceramicists who fire at low temperatures, preserving the raw, matte surface of unglazed stoneware. Each piece carries the imprint of the maker's hands — thumb marks, subtle asymmetries, the evidence of craft.
Micro-cement — a seamless skin for walls and surfaces. Troweled by hand in thin, successive layers, it creates an uninterrupted field of warmth — mineral, matte, and endlessly tactile under the palm.
I
Every texture is chosen for how it feels at dusk — when the room grows quiet and your hand finds the arm of a chair, the rim of a bowl, the edge of a table.
II
We design for the fifth year, the tenth year, the generation after. Materials that improve with age are the only materials worth committing to.
III
The best objects do not announce themselves. They settle into a room like a breath held and released — present, grounded, utterly still.
Dialogue
Olivespire is not a factory. It is a constellation of relationships — with independent ceramicists, woodworkers, and makers across Los Angeles who share our reverence for material, form, and slow craft.
Our LA ceramic partners work in small batches, often no more than twelve pieces per firing. Clay is wedged by hand and shaped on slow wheels across studios in Echo Park and the Arts District. We accept the variations — the slight lean, the organic rim — as signatures of authenticity.

Our LA woodworkers select each board individually, reading the grain like a map. Traditional joinery — no screws, no shortcuts — ensures that what we build will outlast us, from Highland Park workshops to sunlit studios in Venice.

The atelier is where design becomes object — a sunlit archive space in Downtown LA. Natural light, unhurried mornings, the sound of tools on stone and wood. We visit each maker's studio before any collaboration begins — because how something is made is as important as how it looks.
